August 2002
Slide show on 'Understanding Wild Tigers' was conducted in 30 schools of Nagpur city. These schools were selected to run the Kids for Tigers programme in the year 2002-03.

July 2002 Work was started to establish a Biological field station (Nature education, Conservation and Research station) near Kanha Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh.

July 15th 2002
A Kids for Tigers Teachers' Workshop was organized on July 15 at Vanbhavan, Seminary Hill, Nagpur under the Sanctuary-Britannia Tiger Programme. Around 27 teachers
participated in the workshop. Mr. Shree Bhagwan CF (Wildlife), Nagpur, Mr. Kishor Rithe, Member, Maharashtra Wildlife Advisory Board and Dr. Anish Andheria, a naturalist from Mumbai shared the rationale and purpose of the programme.

June-July 2002
A survey was conducted in the areas under the Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra (FDCM) around Pench Tiger Reserve where large-scale felling was reported. The government was alerted about the matter.

June 2002  
Members of the Satpuda Foundation participated in the team which rediscovered wild buffalos in Maharashtra. A recommendation has been made to the Maharashtra government to declare to 475 sq.km. as the state's first Wild Buffalo Sanctuary.

May 20, 2002  
SF Assisted the wildlife staff in clearing the encroachment of Sukhali residents from Bor Wildlife Sanctuary. Collector Wardha and Deputy Conservator of Forests, Pench appreciated Satpuda Foundation's contribution.

April 23- 28 2002 
SF Helped forest staff in removing encroachment (368 houses and structures) from Totaladoh, situated at the heart of Pench Tiger Reserve. This was done in accordance with High Court orders.

March 21, 2002  
SF Organized a nature camp for kids in the Pench Tiger Reserve. Around 35 Kids from 22 schools of Nagpur participated in the camp. An expert from the forest department oriented these kids about several aspects of forest protection and wildlife conservation.

Vulture Nest Monitoring in Pench Tiger Reserve. Around 12 nests were recorded; the deaths of three White backed vultures were investigated.

February 25, 2002
'Kids for Tigers' Nagpur Fest 
The Tiger Mela and Rally in Nagpur was held on February 24, 2002 at the Patwardhan grounds in association with the Satpuda Foundation and the Maharashtra Forest Department. The Tiger Express was also part of the Rally. Former test cricketer, Prashant Vaidya signed autographs for the children, and they in turn, displayed their work on tiger conservation through stalls, exhibits and posters. Chief Wildlife Warden of Maharashtra, Mr. B. Majumdar was also present. A painting competition, debate on tree felling in Nagpur and a nature quiz were held.

February 24, 2002  
A Tiger Mela was organized under the Kids for Tigers Programme in which about 2,000 kids participated. Mr. B. Majumdar, Chief Wildlife Warden of Maharashtra, Mr. Prashant Vaidya, cricketer, Mr. Kishor Rithe, Member of Maharashtra Wildlife Advisory Board and Mr. Bittu Sahgal, Member of Indian Board of Wildlife joined in the day's events.

The Satpuda Foundation assisted the forest department in the arrest of wildlife trader, Rakesh Sharma and the seizure of 6,400 kg. of deer antlers in Nagpur.
